Deaf Assistance and Livelihood Network

DEAF Assistance and Livelihood Network (DALN) is a subgroup of Dumaguete Effata Association DeaF, Inc. (DEAF, Inc.) organized by the City Social Welfare Office to provide the Deaf with livelihood opportunities through varied and sustainable resources.

DALN supported by the SEA-K (Self Employment Assistance - Kaunlaran Program) of DSWD gives our Deaf fellows the opportunity to experience life to the fullest by making their own way of living through an income-generating project in order to support their needs, their families and the organization as a whole.

As a source of livelihood, our Deaf community operates a small canteen located at the Quezon Park Playground, across the Dumaguete Cathedral. The Deaf sell food, drinks and other refreshments for the park-goers. Among the products they sell here, are the pastries they bake at the PWD Center just a few blocks away.

DALN, through the City Social Welfare Office, encourages the Deaf to enhance their expertise and develop their talents through the trainings and workshops that the Deaf go through before this project became a reality.
