The DEAF are given privilege by the City Government to sell Eco-Friendly and reusable bags with Filipino Sign Language made by the Deaf. The bags are sold inside the Dumaguete City booth during the Buglasan Festival last October 14-23, 2011.
The DEAF organized a Halloween Costume Contest called "Scary Show time". The activity was held at Women Center, last October 30, 2011 at around 2:30 pm. The DEAF members are preparing a number to be presented infront of the audience. The winner was the group of 3 Deaf actors inspired by the popular Japanese movie "The Ring".
DEAF, Inc. celebrated International Deaf Day last September 25, 2011 with the theme: "You are right, we have rights!" We prepared a film showing about UNCRPD facililated by President Rommel. About 50 members attended the activity. Snack were provided after.
DEAF, Inc. was invited to attend the City Development Council meeting last September 19, 2011, at Bethel Guest House only two Deaf representatives present with Aloma as interpreter.
After the Perpetual Vow Ceremony, we visited the SPED Center of Ayungon Center School we interviewed the SPED teacher Neri for some facts about her Deaf students.
The Gualandi Mission for the Deaf invited 15 DEAF officers and members to attend and witiness the Perpetual Vow of Bro. Roland Amaro held in Ayungon, Negros Oriental last August 15, 2011.
For the first time, Deaf Alumni of Dumaguete City High School took part of the 44th Founder's Day and the Alumni Homecoming last August 21, 2011.
DEAF, Inc. joined, this year celebrated 33rd National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (NDPRW) July 17-23, 2011, lots of activities like parade, jail visitation, PWDs Annual convention and many more.
The Dumaguete City Vice-Mayor Alan Cordova and councilor who invited DEAF, Inc. together with 2 interpreters during the City Councilo Session every Wednesday.
PSFD held the 2nd PSFD congress last May 13-16, 2011, at SACEDA Youth lead. Arneil Flores, a DEAF member was the only Delegate from Dumaguete City.
DEAF, Inc. hosted the 1st National Deaf Youth camp last May 11-16, 2011 with the PFD-YS at SACEDA Youth Lead, Candau-ay, Dumaguete City.
During the retreat last March 25-27, 2011 led by Fr. Peter of Mission of the Deaf. It is also the 9th Anniversary of DEAF, Inc.. There was election of officers and oath taking ceremony.
Some Deaf with the hearing people participated the 3 video conference of Deaf Human Rights and Legal Access Training held at Knowledge for Development Center, Silliman University Library last December 10, 2010, January 14, 2011, and January 28, 2011.
Some of the DEAF Officers went to Cebu last January 9, 2011. They need to meet the Gualandi Mission for the Deaf’s new superior priest Italian.
DEAF Basketball team participated the 1st PSFD Basketball Tournament @ Bacolod City Last January 7-10, 2011. There were Deaf from Ilo-ilo, Cebu, and Bacolod. They bagged the 4th place due to lack of practice and the team is new compared to other teams. Better luck next time guys!!
The DEAF, Inc. Christmas was held at Bethel Guest House last December 22, 2010 in the evening. The Deaf showed variety of their talents including dancing and acting. They had raffle and exchange gifts. It was full of fun and surprises. They also enjoyed their sumptuous buffet which added delight to the celebration.
This year, the DEAF, Inc. started their Christmas Caroling on December 13, 2010. They are doing it this every year so as to relive the spirit of Christmas and to raise funds for the 1st PSFD (Philippine Sports Federation of the Deaf) Basketball Cup: Visayas and Mindanao Region which will be held in Bacolod City on January 7-9, 2011. The caroling ended on the 27th day of December, 2010.
Last December 10, 2010, a First Video Conference on Deaf Human Rights and Legal Access was held at Knowledge for Development Center of Silliman University library to create awareness among the Deaf and at the same time among the professional people.
During the 63rd Anniversary of the Feast of Dumaguete in honor of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, a parade with a variety of groups or organization was made possible last November 24, 2010. The parade started over the capitol area and ended at Robinson’s Mall.
As part of the celebration of Dumaguete Fiesta, the PWDs showed their talents held in the Robinson Mall last November 25, 2010. The Deaf danced, the blind and the paralytics sang. They were all very enthusiast to prove their talents to the crowd.
This activity “All Hallows Costume Party” was held in the Women Center building, on October 31, 2010. Everyone had fun and really enjoyed the show. It was a contest and one deaf won with a costume “jokerman”. The party also showcased different masked presentation worn by many Deaf.
The Miss Lesbian competition as part of the celebration of the International Deaf Day with the theme: “Deaf and deaf”, greatly contributed to the success of the celebration. It was held at the Women Center, Rizal Boulivard, Dumaguete City last September 26, 2010.
The DEAF, Inc. celebrated its 8th Anniversary last March 28, 2010 at Training Center for PWD-Dumaugete. Everyone enjoyed the snacks while having the small raffle draw. At the end of the activity, there were three winners and they were so happy about what they got.
For the Valentine’s Day 2010, the Deaf community as well as some volunteers and interpreters presented a short program which includes funny drama, dance number and the introduction of our fellow Deaf Filipino-Italian woman. We greatly enjoyed the party while we share the food.

Christmas Party was one of the unforgettable activities for this year. It brought an a whole-day fun and enjoyment to all the Deaf members. It also gave us time to unwind ourselves and feel the fresh breeze and beauty of the beach and also taste the undeniably delicious Filipino dishes. We also had a short program which includes some games, skits and short introduction of our fellow Deaf from Manila.

December 16-18, 2009, marked the dates for one of our Christmas activities called the Christmas Caroling. Every night, we would march and stop to some of our neighbors to share our talents as we sing and sign for them. Through this activity, we asked help from every household in order to support the DEAF, Inc. as much as they can for the underprivileged Deaf community.
Shatter Silence is an annual gathering of Deaf persons in Cebu City, and this year, we had it again last December 8, 2009. Deaf college students from Dumaugete City explored around the Deaf community, meeting their acquaintances and friends. During this gathering, the DEAF, Inc. gave their painting to Fr. Savino Castiglione as a token of appreciation.
Congratulations to our two featured Deaf Artists namely, Jose Elvis Alaton and Rommel D. Lo, opening their art exhibit at GATXS Art Gallery, San Jose St., Dumaguete City last Nov. 4, 2009. Their exhibit of various artworks is enhanced for the corporate working environment.
Celebrating an advance halloween party, held in Tejeros, Valencia last October 17,2009. They had enjoyed swimming along the river and mingle with other fellows who attended the said party.
Last September 26,2009. the Deaf youth joined the amazing race which started at Rizal Boulevard, to the downtown area and ended in Quezon Park. This activity depicts the celebration of the International Deaf Day.
The D.E.A.F.,Inc., in cooperation with St. Paul University Dumaguete, conducted a seminar on Basic Deaf Culture and Filipino Sign Language last August 8, 2009.
The public, in cooperation with the differently-able organizations celebrated its’ 31st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with the theme: "31st NDPR Week: Tungo sa Katuparan ng Karapatan ng PWDs”. This started with a parade around the city, followed by a program.




Last July 11,2009, DEAF opened the balikbayan box that they had received from a Fil-American supporter. Inside the box was things for underprivileged Deaf school children of West City Elementary School, Dumaguete City.




Last March 21, 2009, the D.E.A.F., Inc., celebrated its 7th anniversary at Sand Bar Island, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental. It was a whole day activity which enjoyed and got delighted because that had a lot of games and surprises. It was such a great and unforgettable experience in their lives.




DEAF, Inc. had an Executive Meeting at Rommel Lo’s residence on March 14, 2009 to discuss and plan the Activities for the Calendar year 2009-2010. It was a whole day activity.




On February 15, 2009, held during Valentine's Day activities like games and a lot more of fun.




We had our Christmas Party in Agan-an beach, Sibulan, Negros Oriental. We had sveral activities like games and a lot more of fun.




Jessie Susan Flores, President of D.E.A.F., Inc. is a representative from Dumaguete City, with her was one Deaf executive board, one Deaf member of Philippines Federation of the Deaf-Youth Section and two Deaf volunteers, which we had an activity for Deaf underprivileged children held in Consolacion, Cebu last December 18, 2008.




We met “Mrs. Eva”, a teacher, and gave her a balikbayan box as a present for the Deaf children. We felt ungrateful for not being able to visit Deaf children in the barrio of Bayawan.




In Sta. Catalina, a Christmas activity for Deaf underprivileged children was held in Sta. Catalina Central School SPED Center, we had some activity for them; fun games and gift giving.




Last December 8, 2008, Deaf Children scholarship representative programs were held in SM in Cebu City. Some of our friends from Cebu have a chance to meet our Deaf friends from Dumaguete City, also Fr. Savino met the 4 Deaf executive board of D.E.A.F., Inc.




The Deaf joined the parade of Dumaguete City on its 60th Charter Day Anniversary and Fiesta Celebration last November 24, 2008.




Jessie Susan Flores, president D.E.A.F., Inc. and also an executive board of the Philippines Federation of the Deaf – Youth Section (PFD-YS), had awarded a certificate at the Pioneer West Highlands, Mandaluyong City. 1st Deaf Youth: “Let us Gather to Celebrate” on November 21, 2008, at 6:00 – 9:00 in the evening.




Having a mini-program, games and contest for modeling of cloths during the "Halloween Night Party" activity. Also Deaf members contributed a share for their birthday celebration of October and November.




Deaf Friends Circle – Youth Section had an activity to celebrate World Deaf Day 2008. They had a “Mr. Gay Brothers” a competition in fashion modelling last September 27.




Last July 26, 2008, the DEAF had their first Deaf Acquaintance Party. The high school students and out of school youths had an opportunity to gather and express themselves with other Deaf youth and adult as their role model.




Member’s registration was collected intended for deaf proof certificate.




People exercise, picnic and date in Boulevard, Dumaguete City. We have picnic together with some DEAF member for the first time.




DEAF members joined the one differently-person and deaf women group trip to Sand bar, Manjugod last June 9, 2008. DEAF schedule was given in advance in honor for the “Feast of St. John the Baptist” on 4th week of June.




Retreat house activity was held in sibulan with our title “God Reveals Himself to us”, after the retreat we conduct voting of new officers and oath taking held last April 9-13, 2008.
